I LOVE A LUXURY HOLIDAY BUT HEALTH RETREATS AREN’T REALLY MY BAG…

While Jen loves keeping in shape, she prefers relaxation to wellness when travelling

While I love travel in general, I don’t generally go to specific wellness places. Luxurious resorts are great, but I like to pick and choose what I want to do. I think if I have a schedule of classes and activities it would end up feeling just like work!

TO STAY IN-SHAPE WHILE OVERSEAS I…

Exercise a lot. Weirdly I spend more time working out and being healthy on a holiday then I actually do at home. I guess it’s because I have the time, so it’s a luxury to be able to do that. I hit the gym and practise yoga every day. I love it.

I enjoy running and I don’t do it daily, but I love the feeling I get afterwards. Yoga speaks for itself It just gives you that high…that Zen. It’s really good. Sometimes I’ll go to one-on-one pilates, so I can just switch off

MY GO-TO DESTINATION HAS TO BE…

I guess the Maldives is our go-to, because we know it really well. You can have a routine and be healthy, go to the gym, exercise everyday…and then you can also drink beautiful cocktails by the pool.

It depends what you’re after. Because sometimes wellness means doing things that are good of the soul. You get everything there. Other than that I love Bali, Fiji and Thailand.

WE’VE BEEN TO SONEVA JANI AND FUSHI RECENTLY BUT WE LOVE SO MANY RESORTS IN THE MALDIVES…

We go to a different resort every other year, so we’ve been to a fair few! We’ll go snorkelling, diving, paddle boarding and just chill out and read a book. To be able to read a book cover to front, now that is luxury.

There’s so much to do. I don’t think I’ve ever been bored there. We’ll also take a trip out to an island, which is an amazing experience…being alone together on a tiny private island. Amazing.

MY HOTEL LUXURY IS…

Massages. For me they’re a real luxury, so wherever I travel I get one. I’m always in hotels, so I think it’s about taking time out for yourself and doing something you like. My pick has to be a deep tissue full body massage - I love it. I would do 90-minutes easily if I could. I was staying at The Darling in Sydney recently and they have the best spa.

TO SWITCH OFF OVERSEAS I…

Switch off! When I’m away I try to delegate as much as I can, so I can switch off from technology. I definitely turn off my emails after I’ve done certain things.

MY IN-FLIGHT BEAUTY REGIME INVOLVES…

Making sure I stay hydrated as your skin definitely does get dehydrated in the air. I drink lots of water, which is what everyone says I know, but it really does help. I take my make-up off as soon as I get onboard, wear a thicker moisturiser, eye cream and I put paw paw ointment on my lips. I always try to get lots of sleep - that’s the best thing you can do. So moisturiser is my in-flight essential, along with a pair of noise-cancelling headphones!

TO CONQUER THE DREAD JET LAG I…

Take melatonin at the other end to help my body get back into its rhythm. I also go for a run, which may sound odd, but I have to do it. Even if you’re exhausted as soon as you run you sweat it all out and feel so much better.
